Dublin

My journey into the music world began with the beautiful city of Dublin. It is the capital of Ireland.

When I arrived in Dublin, I immediately plunged into the fairy tale of architecture and atmosphere. It was a long time ago, more than 20 years. I was not interested in photography then, my goal was music. I will talk about my life in Dublin and show photos of places that are familiar to me. Photos are not mine but the story is mine.

Somehow, the most interesting architecture masterpiece for me was O’Connell’s Bridge and I will start my story with it.

O’Connell’s Bridge is located on the Liffey River. (Irish: An Life) It flows through the centre of Dublin. The word Liphe (or Life) referred originally to the name of the plain through which the river ran, but eventually came to refer to the river itself. Its major tributaries include the River Dodder, the River Poddle and the River Camac. The river supplies much of Dublin’s water and a range of recreational activities.

The bridge is named after Daniel O’Connell (Irish: Dónall Ó Conaill; 6 August 1775 – 15 May 1847), hailed in his time as The Liberator, was the acknowledged political leader of Ireland’s Roman Catholic majority in the first half of the 19th century.

Dublin is a sea city and seagulls are everywhere. I love seagulls. They are very funny and sociable. For a piece of bread, they can talk about the endless sea which is very close.

I flew to the city, I will not say when, let it remain in the past. I was immediately impressed by the airport and the liners of the national airlines of Ireland – AerLingus and Ryanair. At the time, Dublin was the Irish economic lion, a beautiful city with a booming economy and many jobs.

It was a very interesting time, I worked and at the same time I assembled a studio. I first found the Perfect Pitch Music Store and bought an acoustic guitar. Today this store has moved to a different address, and in my time it was located at 35 Exchequer st. Dublin 2.

I’m trying to remember the details of that time, this guy is very much alike the one who offered me a guitar made in Korea.

I also bought a Fender Stratocaster from him.

And a guitar processor Korg AX3000G.

After some time of playing guitars and creating the first acoustic versions of compositions, I needed a computer and a sound processor. I found the computer easily, but the processor had to be bought in London by mail. My choice was the Korg TR-Rack. Price at that time with shipping £ 800.

So, I did some recording and it was HIGH TIME to storm London. It is a pity, CDs I used for storing records have lost them due to the low quality and time. I don’t know if I would like to let you hear them or not. They were really funny.

Before going to London I was doing some promotions in night clubs. I wasn’t skilled enough to go live, nobody will offer me such an opportunity, I was just attracting attention and getting surrounded by the people I wanted to address. After some time, Dublin was very much involved into the game. But I wanted LONDON, my dear BABYLON.
